Three hospitalized after crash involving city vehicle in south Lincoln, LPD says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a crash involving a city vehicle.

Just before 9:30 a.m., several first responders were sent to the area of 37th and South streets.

According to LPD, a white 2020 Toyota Camry — driven by a 35-year-old Iowa woman — crashed head-on into a parked Lincoln Transportation and Utilities vehicle.

Police said the LTU truck was parked facing west on the outside eastbound lane of South Street.

According to police, two LTU employees — a 26-year-old man and a 35-year-old man — were taken to the hospital for injuries to their legs.

The driver of the Camry was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, LPD said.

LPD said a drug recognition officer evaluated the Iowa woman, and it was determined that she was under the influence of drugs.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
