Firefighters stand on the roof of a Lincoln home as smoke rises during an overnight house fire near SW 9th Street and West A Street.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Two residents were displaced as a result of a house fire early Friday morning near Southwest 9th Street and West A Street

Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were called to the scene around 2 a.m. after neighbors noticed smoke coming from inside the home.

Officials said the fire was burning inside the walls of the house, making it more difficult to access and extinguish. An investigator later determined the blaze was caused by old electrical wiring.

Fire officials estimate the damage at approximately $30,000.

No injuries were reported.
