Crash in Omaha involving two semi-trucks leads to woman’s death
OMAHA, Neb. (KLKN) — Around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, a three car crash occurred on Interstate 80 (I-80).
Omaha Police Department responded to the area near I-80 East and 102nd Street.
A Chevrolet Equinox, Kenworth semi-truck and a Peterbilt semi-truck were involved in the crash.
After investigation, it was determined that the Kenworth semi was traveling eastbound and began to switch lanes. The Kenworth then struck the Equinox who was in the adjacent lane. The Equinox struck a concrete barrier and then reentered the roadway. After reentering, the Equinox was struck by the Peterbilt semi.
The Equinox caught on fire after the crash.
The driver of the Equinox, a 62-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
