HOT Monday Before the Cooldown & Rain
A HOT, breezy & semi-humid day across Nebraska! Highs ranging from 88° – 104° with dew points in the 60s & 70s! A COLD front W->E tonight will bring much more comfortable air Tuesday!
SE winds will gust to near 25-40+ mph this afternoon & evening. Stronger winds out west this evening due to a line of rain/T-storms.
6-8pm: A line of showers & T-storms will form out west near 6pm & move ENE through the overnight. A few storms could have damaging winds up to 60+ mph. Best rain chance will be in north central, NE near Valentine & east.
9pm-midnight: Activity will gradually weaken, but a trailing line of rain/T-storms could re-develop near the Ainsworth area, dropping more rainfall.
TUES-WED RAINFALL: August 4-5, 2026
Tuesday afternoon from 2-6PM : Rain/T-storms will develop across SE Nebraska along the stalled cold front. Some spots could receive 0.25″-1.0″+.
Wednesday, widespread rain/T-storms will occur from W->E through the morning and early evening hours. The heaviest rain totals will lay along & south of I-80. MUCH COOLER temperatures Tuesday through Thursday!
Rainfall potential through Wednesday evening look to range from 0.75″-2.75″+, with the heavier totals in eastern/SE Nebraska.
A hot and windy Monday. Tuesday brings cooler air and afternoon rain across SE Nebraska. Wednesday will bring the best chance for widespread rainfall. A hot weekend with rain/storm chances starting as early as Sunday afternoon.
