Muggy Friday With Severe Weather Nearby

A warm & humid day across Nebraska under mostly/partly sunny skies! Highs ranging from 86° – 95° with dew points in the 60s & 70s! Rain, storm & wind chances near lunch time, with a few storms this evening south of I-80.
8-11am: The best chance for rain/storms will be north of I-80 & in far SE Nebraska. Some storms could carry gusty winds & small hail.
4-7pm: A few showers/T-storms will be possible from Omaha & south just ahead of the cold front. Better chances into Iowa.
Severe Weather Saturday : August 8, 2026
Saturday brings severe storm chances from O’Neil down to Lincoln. Storms capable of damaging winds up to 65+ mph, ping pong ball hail & heavy rainfall will occur from 7am-2pm Saturday.
7-9am: A cluster of T-storms or even just ONE storm will develop across north central, near O’Neil, Ord & Neligh. STRONG winds up to 60-65+ mph, hail & heavy rain will be the concerns.
11am-2pm: Storms move ESE through Norfolk, Columbus, Fremont and areas near & around Omaha/Lincoln. Main concerns will be GUSTY outflow winds, hail & heavy rain.
Hot & humid with periodic storms Friday. Saturday brings severe weather from 7am-2pm. Winds and hail will be the main concerns. More rain/storms next week with much cooler air!
