Lincoln driver cited for DUI after hitting bicyclist

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — On Saturday, Oct. 3 around 10 a.m., Lincoln Police Department (LPD) officers and Lincoln Fire and Rescue (LFR) personnel were dispatched after a vehicle struck a bicyclist.

LFR and LPD were dispatched to the intersection of Vine Street and North Antelope Valley Parkway on report of the crash.

When officers arrived, they determined that the bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle while in the intersection.

The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

The driver was cited for driving under the influence.
