City hosting final open house on quarter-cent sales tax increase Wednesday

The City is hosting the last of its four public open houses to provide citizens information about the proposed quarter-cent sales tax increase.

The increase will be on the April 9 ballot for voters to decide on.

If approved, city officials said the six-year sales tax increase would generate about $13 million a year for street repair and construction, including neighborhood street repair across Lincoln.

The open houses will feature informational displays about street conditions and transportation funding.

City staff and members of the consultant team will be available for questions.

The open house is being held Wednesday at Dawes Middle School (cafeteria) from 5 to 7 p.m.
