Kearney meth bust cases move to federal court

Two people accused in a Kearney methamphetamine bust have had their cases moved to federal court.
Documents show Hannah Pauly, 23, and Jose Luis Santos-Zepeda, 19, are charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
Both are scheduled to make their initial appearances on Feb. 28.
Investigators with the Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force said they found nearly 4.93 pounds of methamphetamine while serving a search warrant on Jan. 11 at a home at 12 West 10th Street in Kearney.
Court documents say Pauly is also charged in Buffalo County court with intentional child abuse without injury and causing a child to inhale methamphetamine.
An arrest warrant affidavit says two children, ages 2 and 7, were taken into protective custody on Jan. 14.
A narcotics investigator collected hair samples from both children, and the 2-year-old child tested positive for exposure to methamphetamine and ingestion and exposure to cannabinoids.
Police also said there were no beds in the home for the children to sleep on, and the children remain in protective custody.
Pauly is scheduled to appear in court on those extra charges on March 13.
