Lincoln crews working through winter storm as snow piles up

Lincoln is under a snow emergency.
The city said 20 crews were out Tuesday afternoon spreading a salt/brine mix on roads. After all, as much as seven inches of snow could be on the way.
With all the snow Lincoln has already has had this winter, are residents tired of it yet?
“I’ve had enough this year,” Robert Bell said. “I was hoping we’d have an early spring. However, that’s not happening from the looks of things.”
Officials issued a parking ban starting at 8 p.m and plows began making their rounds at 9 p.m.
While the main roads weren’t slick early in the evening, some Channel 8 later talked to said driving got tougher.
“Very slick and very dangerous at the moment,” Chazz Durant said. “I mean, I’ve seen a few crashes so far, like a few rear ends and a few cars sliding out of control.”
But some also said they’re used to driving in these conditions.
“I think I’m a seasoned pro by now,” Bell said. “Yeah, you just kind of roll with the punches. And I live on top of a big hill and I know my route to get to work.”
City officials said visibility can get bad and they want you to give extra stopping distance and watch out for black ice and other slick spots.
