Husker volleyball players take on Pemberly Place residents

Wednesday is the Husker volleyball team’s off day, so they took they took their skills to Pemberly Place where they rotated through chairs and spiked a balloon.
It was a surprisingly intense game for the Huskers.
“They were very competitive. I wasn’t expecting it. I’m pretty sure they won all the games we played but we tried,” Anezka Szabo, Husker middle blocker, said.
Dozens of Pemberly residents gathered in a room to play volleyball against six huskers.
“I played in the front row against them, and that was exciting,” Jean Weber, resident at Pemberly Place, said.
“They were hitting it pretty hard at us; I think I got hit in the face a couple times,” Nicklen Hames, Husker setter, said.
The residents have been playing every Thursday night since July. They quickly gained confidence to play the Huskers.
A lot of the residents followed the Huskers all the way to the National Championship on television, so they were thrilled when they got to meet them.
“It’s so nice to see those girls. You know, you see them on t.v. but you never really get to interact with them, so it’s awesome that they take the time to do that,” Weber said.
