US citizens are paying more at the pump

WASHINGTON (CNN) — The national average price of gas is nearing three dollars a gallon. AAA says drivers in the U.S. are paying 14% more at the pump in March, compared to February.

Nebraska sits slightly below the national average at $2.81 per gallon. The most expensive gallon of gas can be found in California, with an average cost of $3.86. While the cheapest pumps can be found in Mississippi with a $2.58 average.

Currently, the average price for a gallon of unleaded is $2.87. Gas prices are expected to keep rising throughout the week due to a tightening of supply and an increase in demand, reports AAA.
