NSP: Holdrege crash leaves 2 dead, child hospitalized

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KLKN) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) are investigating a crash that claimed two lives and sent a child to the hospital.
The crash happened near Holdrege just before 8 am Tuesday. A Chevy Silverado was driving westbound on Hwy 6 when it crossed the center line and struck a Dodge Gand Caravan.
The Silverado’s driver and only occupant, 29-year-old Dylan Skeen, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. He was later pronounced dead.
NSP says Skeen was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The Grand Caravan driver, 36-year-old Kerri Bernstrauch, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bernstrauch had a child passenger who sustained serious injuries. They were flown to an Omaha hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
