Autopsy shows Bellevue children smothered; father charged with murder
A Nebraska man accused in the deaths of his two young children is now being charged with murder after an autopsy showed the children were smothered.

PAPILLION, Neb. (KLKN) – According to a press release from the Sarpy County Attorney, the state of Nebraska has filed a motion to amend charges for Adam Price to two counts of first-degree murder. Price’s two children, 5-year-old Emily and 3-year-old Theodore, were found dead in his home during a welfare check in May.
Price left Nebraska after the deaths of the children and was later arrested by law enforcement in Pacifica, California. Price has been incarcerated in the Sarpy County Jail since May 27 on two counts of child abuse resulting in death.
“Recently obtained autopsy reports show that Emily and Theodore died by asphyxia due to smothering. Based on this new information, the state filed a motion to amend the charges to two counts of first-degree murder,” Chief Deputy Sarpy County Attorney, Bonnie Moore said.
Channel 8 spoke with Emily and Theodore’s mother on May 17. Mary Nielsen said, “Emily and Teddy were some of the sweetest and most loving children and they were the light of her life.”
Price is scheduled to appear before a judge on October 12 regarding the state’s motion to amend the charges to first-degree murder. If convicted, Price faces life in prison.
