Above average temperatures, storm chance increases
Temperatures are going to be a few degrees above average (85) as we head through the end of the week. However, a cold front will roll through Friday giving us a chance for rain and cooler air by Saturday. We warm back up by next week!
We will start Wednesday off just a few degrees below average before warming up fairly quick. We’ll be in the 80s by noon and stay in the 80s all afternoon with plenty of sunshine.
The middle and upper 80s will be around for all of us by Wednesday afternoon. We’ll also see low dew points and not much of a wind. A pretty nice day, really!
A cold front will start to slide across the state Thursday. It’ll pop some storms in the western half of the state by Thursday afternoon, move into central Nebraska Thursday night, and into eastern Nebraska by early Friday.
Because of this chance for storms Thursday into Friday, the Storm Prediction Center has much of the state in a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for strong to severe storms. Hail and wind will be the main concerns.
