Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche advances on road to become permanent
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee (SJC) has voted in favor of Trump’s nominated attorney general, Todd Blanche. Blanche is the acting attorney general after Pam Bondi was fired in April.
The SJC advanced Todd Blanche’s nomination to permanently lead the Department of Justice.
Two Republican senators had refused to vote for Blanche as long as the “Anti-Weaponization Fund” was on the table. Blanche agreed to rescind President Trump’s proposed fund.
The next step for Blanche will be a Senate vote, which will determine if he will be confirmed as attorney general.
