Air Park grocery and hardware store closing

A big announcement for Lincoln’s Air Park community, the IGA Market Place and Do-it Best Hardware store is closing.
The store is located near W Adams and NW 48th streets. It’s a staple in the neighborhood and many people are sad to see it go.
Residents in the area were sent letters about the announcement.
“Really disappointed, you know, I mean it is a nice place to pick up groceries or I just picked some stuff up at the hardware store,” said Bill Stukenholtz.
Stukenholtz says the store is an essential stop for people in the Air Park area. The store sits as the lone Air Park grocery store.
“In a way I would rather just pay a little bit more to have the convenience. That is why I come here. I know sometimes I could could get my groceries a little cheaper somewhere. But you know, nice to have the store here, so I utilize it,” said Stukenholtz.
The store will be doing a closing sale starting Thursday, December 12th and says everything must be sold. Everything will be on sale including groceries, general hardware, painting supplies and even the store fixtures and equipment.
No exact closing date was announced; the letter just said “in a few short weeks.”
Store hours are Monday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
