Air quality issues followed by storm chances

There is an Air Quality Alert for moderate to unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups. Prescribed burns in the central plains (Flint Hills in Kansas) may affect the air quality in Nebraska. South winds will bring smoke and haze with it Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

Most of Wednesday will be dry and very mild with highs in the lower 80s.

The chance for storms increases late Wednesday into very early Thursday. Then again Thursday afternoon and evening.

The threat for storms very early Thursday have a level 1 “Marginal Risk” attached to it. A couple of storms could have some 1″ hail in them as they move through SE Nebraska.

The threat for storms Thursday afternoon and evening have a level 1 and 2 “Marginal” and “Slight Risk” for severe storms. Hail and damaging wind will be the main concern, but an isolated tornado can’t be completely ruled out.

After Thursday, we get a quiet couple of days Friday and Saturday, then another chance for storms late Saturday into Sunday. The storm chance continues into next week, too.
