Annual blood drive at Channel 8

During the holidays, blood donations go down, but on Friday, people had a chance to help the Red Cross save some lives.
The Red Cross Blood mobile was parked out in front of our station at Channel 8 Friday afternoon.
Several people stopped by to donate and our very own, Rod Fowler, rolled up his sleeve and donated a pint.
Officials say we’re all busy this time of year, but the need for blood is constant.
“It’s very important to take time this time of year to give the gift of life to those patients in need, who are spending their holiday in the hospital,” Robyn Steinkuhler, Red Cross Donor Recruitment Manager said.
A lot of the blood goes to patients who are battling cancer or may have been in a car accident.
