Another hot day across southeast Nebraska 8/11/2021
We are off to a pretty uncomfortable start this morning! Temperatures are mainly in the 70s across southeast Nebraska, but several spots are near the low 80s. Dew point temperatures are pretty muggy right now in the mid to upper 70s as well, so all of the moisture is resulting in a sticky feeling. This will continue into the afternoon today, but eventually dew point temps might drop a bit thanks to a shift in the wind.
As a result, heat index values will only be near the triple digits today with highs in the mid-90s.
Our Heat Advisory will expire at 9 PM tonight but there is the potential for another one tomorrow since similar conditions will exist. The 80s and less humid conditions return by Friday.
