At Times Hazy, Windy, Though Pleasant Weekend Ahead

Temperatures remain a touch cooler at the start of August, with mostly sunny skies through the weekend. While cloud cover will be minimal, smoke aloft will bring hazy skies over the coming days.

While we will see minimal impacts from the smoke at the surface, the hazy skies may help keep temperatures down a few degrees on Saturday afternoon.

Overnight lows will fall to the upper 50s to lower 60s across the state for the start of the weekend.

Mostly clear skies are expected for any Friday evening and Saturday morning plans. Strong winds will continue overnight; best to keep the trash can in a secure place this evening.

Another cooler day is on the way for eastern Nebraska on Saturday afternoon, with highs in the lower to middle 80s. Western Nebraska remains warm for the start of August, with highs in the 90s.

Outside of a windy and hazy afternoon, not a bad forecast for the Capital City on the first day of August. Highs tomorrow will be seasonably cooler, when we usually see highs in the upper 80s.

We stay dry through the weekend with a few scattered storm chances for the middle of the week. That will bring highs back down to the middle 80s, before a return to the upper 80s and lower 90s by next weekend.
