Authorities searching for missing Omaha inmate

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha inmate is missing after he removed his monitoring device Monday morning.

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says 25-year-old Andre Willis removed the device about a mile west of the Community Corrections Center-Omaha.

Willis was serving a sentence of up to five years for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person in Douglas County.

He had a parole hearing scheduled for August.

Officials said Willis is 6-foot-4, 210 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Willis’ whereabouts is asked to call local authorities or the Nebraska State Patrol.
