Big warm stretch this week 1/10/2022

Temperatures have cooled into the teens and 20s across the area this morning, but wind chill values are making it feel like the single digits for some of you. Make sure to have several layers on this morning, but you will be able to shed some layers by the afternoon. It will be a typical January day today with highs in the mid to upper 30s today and widespread sunshine. Winds will gradually shift out of the south by the afternoon and this will help provide the temperature boost that will make us warmer than yesterday. Calm conditions and mostly clear skies will continue into overnight tonight and temperatures will cool into the upper teens. But a major jump in temperatures will start tomorrow and it will carry us through the rest of the week! Highs soar into the 50s through Thursday with dry conditions. Cooler temperatures won’t return until Friday, after a cold front pushes through and cools us back into the 40s. This cold front might even bring some precipitation to the area in the form of rain.
