Bitterly cold air moves in
The snow is over and now, the cold air is set to push in.
It’s going to get very cold and it’s going to stay very cold for several days.
Wind Chill Warnings are in place for the entire state all the way through Tuesday.
With wind gusts in excess of 40 mph at times, the wind chill is going to be dangerously cold. Nearing -40 degrees is possible.
Frost bite and hypothermia can happen quickly in conditions like this.
Winter Storm Warnings, Blizzard Warnings, and Winter Storm Warnings are in place through Saturday evening.
This is mainly for blowing snow and the potential for white out conditions.
Temperatures tonight into early Saturday will drop to 0 to 10 degrees below zero.
The wind chill by early Saturday morning will drop to 20 to 35 degrees below zero. And this is just the beginning.
By Saturday afternoon, the temperature will continue to fall. Double digits below zero is likely by sunset Saturday.
The wind chill Saturday evening will be in the 30 to 40 degrees below zero range.
It keeps getting colder, too! By Sunday morning, the temperature will be very close to 20 below.
That means the wind chill will be around 40 degrees below zero. It is very dangerous to be outside in conditions like this.
Through the weekend, temperatures will continue to be very, very cold.
Additional snow will be minimal, but what’s on the ground will continue to blow around.
