Boy taken to hospital after being hit by car

Witnesses told Channel 8 the boy was in crosswalk with his bike when he was hit.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A boy was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car Tuesday afternoon.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. near 12th and C Street.

Witnesses told Channel 8 the boy was in crosswalk with his bike when he was hit.

They say the boy flew approximately 20 feet through the air.

A Lincoln Police officer on the scene said the boy was taken to the hospital for “precautionary” reasons.

It’s unclear at this time whether the driver will be cited.
