Chilly breeze Monday; cooler, seasonal temperatures returning this week
February is a month where we can see a wide variety of weather in Lincoln.
The range in temperatures we’ve seen in previous February’s is over 114 degrees between the warmest and lowest temperatures!
Sunday was the last of the spring-like temperatures. A front moving through early on into Monday will usher in northerly winds that bring seasonal change to our temperatures.
Those northerly winds will be gusting around 25-30 mph especially late in the morning through the afternoon Monday.
As a result, we’ll be even colder Tuesday and Wednesday of this upcoming week. Although precipitation chances are still fairly small, spotty freezing drizzle is a possibility for the morning hours of Wednesday.
Beyond that, we’ll warm slightly to around 40° by the end of the work week and weekend. But temperatures around 60 degrees appear to be something we’re putting in the rearview mirror. Temperatures look to stay colder through the middle of the month.
