City of Lincoln announces 25 finalists for the Name That Snowplow contest

Get Ready For Possible Winter Storm Tuesday

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Lincoln Transportation and Utilities Department on Monday announced the 25 finalists for the Name That Snowplow contest.

Community members submitted 164 names during the final year of the three-year contest.

LTU Operations and Maintenance team members selected the 25 finalists.

“We appreciate the strong participation and creativity our community brings to this contest,” LTU Director Liz Elliott said in a press release. “These names add some fun to the winter season and help people feel connected to the work that keeps Lincoln moving. Our winter operations team values this support and remains committed to keeping streets safe and clear for everyone.”

Residents can visit LTU’s website to vote for the names now through Dec. 19. The winning names will appear on eight city snowplows.
