Cold, windy, and light snow

The wind is going to be the main concern as we head through Friday. Wind gusts will mostly be in the 30-40 mph range, but a few gusts may be in excess of 60 mph.

Wind Gusts

Because of the high wind gust potential, there is a HIGH WIND WARNING in place for much of the western half of the state through Friday evening.

Light snow is also possible for Friday. Most of the time, this doesn’t pose much of an issue, but with all of the wind expected, any snow that does fall will be blowing around and lowering visibility. Travel will be difficult if and when this happens.

Below is what our StormCast weather model is showing for timing, location, and duration of the storm potential.

Highs on Friday are a little deceiving. We’ll get into the middle 30s early, then cool into the 20s by the afternoon. The wind will make it feel a lot colder, too.

State Forecast Highs Tomorrow

It’s going to feel more like January for a while. Single digit lows are expected into next week!
