The state capitol was a popular spot for rallies on Saturday, as a second one took place on the steps.
Dozens showed up to the Change Now, No More rally. It was all to provide more awareness throughout the community.
The crowd heard from leaders who pushed for people to sign up to vote and be more involved in their community.
“So we’re giving people information on voting rights, their rights when it comes to police stops, and things like that,” said Kierra Williams. “We’re also giving them information on how they can get involved because a lot of our community members want to be an active role in this movement but, they just don’t know how and they don’t have the resources. ”
Williams says she hopes to have more events similar to this one in the future to keep people involved.
