Cooking fire causes about $15,000 in damage to southwest Lincoln home
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire Tuesday night at a southwest Lincoln town house.
The fire was reported about 8:15 p.m. near Southwest Eighth Street and West Old Cheney Road.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews put out the flames within about five minutes of their arrival, according to Battalion Chief Eddie Mueller.
LFR said it was a cooking fire and was contained to the cabinet area of the kitchen.
The blaze caused an estimated $15,000 in damage.
