Cool again for Thursday and more storms headed our way

After a quiet and cooler day, storms are possible later this evening, with most of the severe potential saying in the panhandle.

StormCast below is showing the storms moving out of the panhandle tonight and weakening as they cross the state. This will bring a rain chance for most of the state during the day Thursday.

You will notice above that in the last few frames of that video, a strong line of storms pushes out of the panhandle around 10:00pm Thursday. That lines up perfectly with the “Enhanced Risk” in place for this area. See below!

After that line moves out of western Nebraska, the storms will gradually weaken. There’s still a chance for strong to severe storms overnight Thursday into early Friday, but the threat is smaller the further east it gets.

After the severe threat Thursday night into Friday, we will have another chance for some strong storms Friday afternoon and evening. The better chance will be further east into Iowa and Missouri.

For what it’s worth, Wednesday is shaping up to be a cooler than average day for most of Nebraska!
