Cool down is near

We get one more day of summer heat, then changes are on the way. We’ll go from the 90s for a high Monday to just the 60s by next weekend! With a pattern shift like this, we can usually blame a cold front for it and that’ll be the case this time. Showers and storms are looking likely as the cold front sweeps through Tuesday.

Changes are on the way, however. A cold front will be pushing across the state bringing with it cooler air and storm chances. The first of these storms show up in western Nebraska Monday evening.

Because of those storm chances, there is a level 1 “Marginal Risk” for storms for western Nebraska.

That storm chance pushes east Tuesday into central and eastern Nebraska where strong to severe storms will be possible in the afternoon and evening.

A level 1 “Marginal Risk” is also in place for much of central and eastern Nebraska for the storm chance Tuesday. A couple of strong to severe storms will be possible.
