Cooler air sticks around, storms move in Friday night into Saturday

We’ll start Friday off on a cool start, but we warm up a little bit by the afternoon. Highs will still be below average, though!

Afternoon highs across the area will be cooler than average, but still mild. Most of us will be in the middle 80s.

Below is what our StormCast model is saying for storms on Friday. Strong to severe storms are going to be possible as this line moves from northwest to southeast.

Because of the potential for severe storms, the Storm Prediction Center has much of the western half of the state in a level 1 and 2 “Marginal” to “Slight” risk for severe storms.

The main threat will be damaging wind as the afternoon and evening progresses.

Hail is also a possibility on Friday, mainly in north central and western Nebraska.

More storms will be possible on Saturday and Sunday with temperatures well below average.
