Cooler and windy Thursday, summer stops by for the weekend
After a couple of quiet and mild days, the wind engine gets cranked back up again on Thursday. We quiet back down on Friday, which looks like a great day. Then, summer stops by for the weekend!
A cool start to the day on Thursday with lows near 40 degrees. This is pretty close to normal.
Thursday will be a windy day. The wind will be out of the northwest at 15 to 25 mph, gusting up to 40 mph at times.
Because of the wind, the lack of rain/snow, low humidity, and the mild temperatures, a Red Flag Warning and Fire Weather Watch is in place for much of Nebraska. Any fire that gets started may get out of control quickly.
We’ll be about 10-15 degrees cooler on Thursday than we were on Wednesday.
We do warm right back up, though. 70s for Friday. Near record highs for Saturday (and Sunday)!
