Cooler with strong wind gusts and scattered showers today 4/6/2022

Wind will be the biggest weather concern throughout the day today as it will gust around 40 mph or higher. Already this morning, wind gusts are close to 30 mph in southeast Nebraska and around 60 mph to our north. Secure loose outdoor items and avoid burning today! The blustery wind speeds are resulting in the 30s for wind chill values this morning, so grab a coat before you head out the door. You might even want it later today, because increasing clouds will prevent us from breaking out of the mid-50s. Strong wind gusts continue into the overnight hours and into tomorrow with cool highs in the mid-40s. Temperatures finally rebound into the 50s on Friday and wind speeds relax a bit. We continue to warm into early next week, back above average and flirting with the 80s.
