Deadly car accident on Highway 50 in Sarpy Co.

On June 25, reports were received regarding a four vehicle personnel injury accident just south of Schramm Road on Highway 50.  Preliminary investigation indicates that a White 2007 Buick Terraza which was traveling northbound on Hwy 50 crossed the median and was struck by a Black 2010 Chevrolet Silverado Pick-up which was southbound. 

The Buick and the Chevrolet were both total losses as a result of the damage.  There were two other vehicles involved that took evasive action and sustained minor damage.

The adult male driver of the Buick and his front seat, adult female passenger were both dead at the scene.  A five year old female from that vehicle was taken, via Children’s Hospital Squad, to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha with unknown injuries.

The adult female driver of the Chevrolet was taken to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The accident was handled by deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and Officer’s from the Papillion Police Department.  The accident is being investigated by the Metro CRASH Team.  Units from the Springfield Volunteer Fire Department were on scene and assisted by the Papillion Fire Department and the Gretna Volunteer Fire Department.

The passengers in the other two involved vehicles were not injured.

No names are being released at this time until notification can be made to the next of kin.
