Despite cooler mornings, the warm up continues into Monday

Recapping the weekend low temperatures, we saw lows in the 20s on Saturday and lows in the 30s on Sunday. Northerly winds and clear nights have helped us to reach these conditions, but change is coming our way as we start another week.

Another cool start on Monday morning began with temperatures in the mid and upper 30s, slightly below average for this time of year. Despite these cooler temperatures, winds are going to shift to be out of the south through the afternoon to transport warmer air into southeast Nebraska.

High temperatures are expected to reach 80° today for another warm fall afternoon. This week average high temperatures are in the upper 60s, so we’ll be warmer than normal during the day on Monday. We’ll stay dry for now, with dewpoints in the 30s and a watch for fire danger out west. Low relative humidity values in areas of extreme drought are expected with gusts anywhere from 30-40 miles per hour with the warmer weather. Be safe out there today!

Besides rain chances Tuesday evening along a cold front, the rest of the forecast remains dry for now. Some isolated thunderstorms with some heavy rain at times are possible with the risk for severe weather staying low.
