A Lincoln man was arrested after allegedly striking another man with a stick and breaking his arm.

According to court documents, a man staying at the Oasis Motel on Cornhusker Hwy. knocked on the door of a room where a man was yelling and told him to be quiet.

After going to the front desk to inform them of the incident, the man returned to the hallway by his room where he says a man – identified as 28-year-old Anthony Turner – appeared and struck him in the arm with a 3′ long wooden stick. The man went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a broken arm, according to court records.

When officers found Turner, he told them he had been playing a video game and was yelling at the game when the alleged victim began banging on his door and yelling at him to quiet down, according to an affidavit for his arrest. Turner also reportedly told investigators the alleged victim was “egging him on” and telling him to hit him with the stick.

Turner was arrested for second-degree assault. A judge on Monday set his bond at $5,000.
