Downhill on the temperature roller coaster today into tomorrow 1/18/2022

Get ready for a big drop on the temperature roller coaster! A cold front will push through this afternoon and it will drag breezy conditions and arctic air with it. Thankfully, even though the cold front will push through today, the colder air won’t arrive until overnight tonight. This means that we have one more mild day before temperatures drop! We already are off to a pretty mild start this morning with temperatures in the 30s and wind chill values in the 20s for most. Once the sun goes up, temperatures will quickly soar into the upper 50s and low 60s with a slight increase in clouds by the afternoon. Wind speeds will also increase a tad during the day, but mainly late this evening into overnight tonight. Wind gusts could exceed 30 mph at times into early tomorrow morning and temperatures will drop into the low teens. We won’t warm up much more by the afternoon tomorrow, as highs are only expected to reach the low 20s. Wind chill values tomorrow morning will be subzero for some, with single digit wind chill values by the afternoon. Temperatures struggle to break out of the teens on Thursday and it won’ t warm back to the 30s until Friday. Friday is also when we could potentially see some snow flurries flying around the area.
