LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A bomb squad was called in for the second time this week after a destructive device was found during a Lincoln traffic stop.

This happened near 27th and N Streets on Thursday, just before 2 a.m.

Police first brought in a service dog to sniff the vehicle and then began searching inside.

LPD says they found meth, a knife with a brass knuckle hilt, powder, taped together batteries, copper wire, a fuse and a round of rubber ball ammo.

Officers asked for the Nebraska State Patrol and Lincoln Fire and Rescue bomb squad to help investigate.

Spenser Spiedell was then taken into custody.  He’s facing a long list of charges including possession of explosives.

The 24-year-old was arrested for a similar case back in January, after multiple homemade explosives were found during another traffic stop.
