Dry for a while and warming back up
The latest reports we have for highest wind speeds are below. So far, Denton has the highest with 92 mph.
Elkhorn, which was hit hard by the Arbor Day tornado outbreak, saw a wind gust of 77 mph.
We did see some rain out the storms, but most of it was blowing sideways. Regardless, some of us did get some high rainfall totals.
We are starting to really need the rain, too. The drought has expanded a bit and we are seeing more “Abnormally Dry” areas and even some “Severe” areas in the panhandle.
Unfortunately, no rain is in the forecast until perhaps next week. Temperatures on Friday will be in the lower 90s, which is pretty close to normal.
