Dry Friday and Saturday, storms later in the weekend

Fog

A Dense Fog Advisory (above) is in place through 8AM Friday for much of central and eastern Nebraska.

After some showers Thursday night, most of Friday and Saturday will be dry and mild. Storms start to become possible late Saturday then really get going Sunday. We may see some thunderstorms Sunday! Rain is likely into Christmas Day before cold air pools in by Tuesday, changing precipitation over to a rain/snow mix.

Tomorrow High Dma

Friday will be quiet and mild. We’ll start the day with clouds and fog, but the sun should come out by the afternoon.

3day Lincoln Forecast With Hourlies

We warm up quick, too. Temperatures will be close to 50 by noon!

3day Lincoln Forecast With Hourlies1

The chance for precipitation moves in late Saturday into Sunday. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible in eastern Nebraska, snow for the western half of the state.

Above is what StormCast says our radar will look like Thursday through Sunday. Storms become more likely after Saturday with snow pushing into the panhandle.

After Sunday, things get a little interesting. StormCast (above) says a low pressure system gets “stuck” somewhat and pushes north instead of east. This will slow down the progression that storms normally have, giving us more rain and eventually a chance for snow in eastern Nebraska.
