Excessive Heat Warnings and Heat Advisories
There is an Excessive Heat Warning (above) in place starting Saturday at 1:00PM and going all the way through Wednesday night. That’s FIVE days in a row. The heat index will be between 100 and 115 degrees each afternoon.
There is also a Heat Advisory in place Saturday for areas just to the north and west of the Excessive Heat Warning. The heat index in this area will be anywhere between 100 and 109 degrees.
For Saturday, the temperature will start off warm and make it into the lower 100s by the afternoon. The record high for Lincoln is 100 set in 1962.
The dewpoint will be high all day long.
The heat index will be dangerously high by the afternoon.
Sunday will be a touch cooler, but still very hot. See the forecast graphics below:
