Fake dog used to steal man’s car in Lincoln

Thief sped off after tricking his victim

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Police say a 21-year-old man was sitting in his car outside of Georgetown Apartments at 7100 Van Dorn Street around 1:00 this morning when an unknown male approached.

We’re told the stranger knocked on the victim’s window and claimed he needed help with a dog.

The victim got out of his white 2016 Honda Fit to assist in the search, only to see the stranger jump into his car and speed off.

Right now there is no description of the thief to go on.

The Honda Fit has an estimated value of $9,000.
