Falling Friday temps and strong wind gusts 2/11/2022

Your Friday started off with some much needed moisture! Light rain showers moved through southeast Nebraska after midnight and through 7 AM. Most of the state is now dry, but I can’t rule out the chance for some mist during your morning commute. Temperatures are mild currently in the 40s, but these mild temperatures won’t stick around forever! A strong cold front will drop out temperatures into the afternoon, and eventually result in the 20s and 30s by the evening commute. So while you might not need your winter coat this morning, you will want it later this evening. Along with falling temperatures, wind gusts will increase and eventually gust above 35 mph. Clouds will also try to clear out a bit by the afternoon resulting in some sunshine for the second half of your Friday. Temperatures plunge back to the single digits overnight with mostly clear skies and calmer wind speeds. Winter temperatures stick around into Saturday with highs only in the low 30s, before we rebound into the low 40s on Sunday. The 50s return on Monday and the chance for mid-week precipitation next week continues to increase.
