Family surprises girl with birthday drive through

When no one could make it for a little girl's birthday party, a family surprised her with a drive through celebration instead.

(LINCOLN, Neb.) – When no one could make it for a little girl’s birthday party, a family surprised her with a drive through celebration instead.

“Well my grandma said, ‘What’s that noise?’ and I said, ‘I don’t know,’ and I looked and I saw my dad and then I saw all the other cars in a whole row,” said Jazmine Ihde-Hartshorn. “So, yeah it was pretty cool.”

A tow truck, a police car, and dozens of family and friends drove by to say hello and drop off gifts for Jazmine’s ninth birthday. Pageant queens and neighbors joined in as well. It was a special moment for her mother to witness.
“Because of the COVID, it was a little difficult right now,” said Jessica Ihde. “We invited a few girls, not a single one could come, unfortunately. We put this together just to give her something for her birthday that she could remember and she was definitely surprised.”
