Father Reacts To Son’s Shooting Death

The Father of an Omaha man who was murdered in Lincoln this weekend speaks out.

His son Doyle Bryant the 3rd may have been the victim of mistaken identity.

He was with some friends in a car near 27th and Superior late Saturday night.

Someone started shooting at them.

Doyle, who was in town to celebrate getting a barber's license, was killed.

His father says his son and some friends decided to celebrate in Lincoln versus Omaha because they thought it would be safer.

Bryant the 3rd was with his best friend, cousin and brother Saturday night.

The four had gone to a club in Lincoln, but left because a scuffle had broken out.

Daryl Bryant told his father that he and his brother decided to leave.

And that they had done nothing to make someone come after them.

It was at the intersection of 27th and Folkways Boulevard when a gold Mercedes drove up and fired several shots at their car.

26 year-old Daryl Bryant was shot in the leg.

The driver Lynell Green was also shot in the leg.

28 year-old Doyle Bryant was shot in the chest and died.

He leaves behind his wife and two kids.

At this time police still don't have any suspects.

Daryl Bryant had told his father that three people were in the gold car that fired the shots.
