Flames shoot from roof of apartment building near downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Firefighters battled a blaze at an apartment building near downtown Lincoln early Wednesday.

It happened around 3:45 a.m. near 13th and F streets.

A Channel 8 reporter saw flames shooting from the roof of the apartment next to El Chaparro restaurant and La Illucion grocery store.

LFR is investigating the cause of the fire. No one was found inside the building, according to LFR.

LPD had 13th street between E and F streets closed while crews battled the fire.
