LINCOLN – According to the Lincoln Police Department, former Nebraska defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski was arrested and jailed Sunday on suspicion of third-degree misdemeanor domestic assault.

Officials say somebody called officers to the Kaczenski residence Sunday afternoon concerned about ongoing arguing. Police say sometime between 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. Sunday, the former coach threw a picture frame that hit his 33-year-old wife in the head. Officers say she had scratches to her face and neck and a cut on her forehead. Captain Robert Farber confirmed Sunday night, her injuries were not serious enough for a hospital visit.

Kaczenski coached defensive line at Nebraska for three years under Bo Pelini. LPD says this is Kaczenski’s first arrest, and the first time officers have been called to his home.
