Fred Hoiberg tests positive for COVID-19

The head coach announced today he tested positive on Friday as team activities are still on pause.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska men’s basketball head coach Fred Hoiberg announced on Sunday that he tested positive for COVID-19. Hoiberg received the positive test on Friday and has since self-isolated. He says he is experiencing symptoms, however, they have improved over the last 24 hours. Team activities were paused this past Monday and will continue to do so.

12 individuals in the men’s basketball program tested positive, including seven players. No names of any positive players were released. And due to the extension of the pause, the Minnesota game (Jan. 20) and their contest at Iowa (Jan. 24) have been postponed.
