Grand Island Police investigate possible shooting, teen reports gunshot wound

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KLKN) — The Grand Island Police Department (GIPD) is investigating a reported shooting that happened in broad daylight Tuesday.

Around 2 pm, GIPD responded to the area of W Pheonix Avenue and S Greenwich Street.

Police say they discovered an 18-year-old was shot in the upper arm but left the scene prior to their arrival. He was later contacted at a local hospital being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
